About Absolute Disability Services

Absolute Disability Services is an NDIS provider based in South Australia, built on a simple belief: that every person with disability deserves support that is compassionate, consistent, and genuinely centred on their goals. We are a small, experienced team led by founder Colleen Barrow — and we are proud to be a local, independent business that knows our communities and cares about the people in them.

The Story Behind Absolute Disability Services

Colleen Barrow spent 36 years building a professional cleaning business on a foundation of reliability, hard work, and genuine care for her clients. She built long-term relationships with households and businesses across South Australia — not because of contracts, but because people trusted her and her team to do the job properly. That trust, earned over decades, became the foundation for everything that followed.

About fifteen years ago, Colleen began working in the disability sector. What started as an extension of her support network — helping people in her community who needed reliable, trustworthy in-home assistance — grew into something much larger. She saw, firsthand, how hard it could be for people with disability and their families to navigate a system that was supposed to help them. She saw providers who were inconsistent, impersonal, or simply too large to care. And she decided she could do better.

Absolute Disability Services was built on that conviction. Colleen created an organisation that brings together professional expertise, real-world experience, and the kind of genuine human warmth that cannot be faked. The cleaning background matters — it means we show up on time, we do the job properly, and we take pride in the environments we work in. The disability experience matters — it means we understand the NDIS, we know what good support looks like, and we are committed to the people we serve. This combination is rare. And it is at the heart of everything we do.

What We Stand For

Compassion

We lead with empathy. Every person who comes to us is navigating something real and often challenging. We listen before we act, and we never make anyone feel like a number on a schedule. Compassion is not a value we put on a wall — it is the way we actually work.

Independence

We believe in your capacity to live on your own terms. Our support is designed to build your independence over time, not create reliance. Whether that means learning to cook for yourself, getting out into the community, or understanding your NDIS plan — we want to see you thrive.

Empowerment

You are in control. Always. We provide information, options, and encouragement — but the decisions are yours. We will advocate for you when you need it and step back when you do not. Your voice matters in every interaction we have.

Trust

We earn trust the same way Colleen built her business — by doing what we say we will do, every single time. We show up consistently, communicate honestly, and treat every person in our care with the reliability and respect they deserve.

Where We Work

We serve communities across a wide stretch of South Australia — from metropolitan Adelaide to regional centres and rural communities. If you are not sure whether we cover your area, just give us a call.

Adelaide & North Adelaide

Our home base. We provide the full range of disability support, cleaning, and group services across metropolitan Adelaide and the inner north.

Gawler & Barossa

Supporting communities in the Barossa region and the growing satellite communities around Gawler.

Mid North

Port Pirie, Clare, Kadina — regional communities across the Mid North, including the Yorke Peninsula. We understand regional service gaps and work to fill them.

Southern Flinders Ranges

Reaching into the Flinders Ranges communities for clients who need support but are often overlooked by larger metro-focused providers.

Our Approach

We are person-centred in everything we do — which means your goals, preferences, and choices shape our support, not the other way around. We take time at the beginning to understand what matters to you, and we revisit that as your life and needs change. We are flexible, responsive, and committed to continuity — where possible, you will have the same support worker over time, building a relationship built on real familiarity and trust. And we are always available to talk. If something is not working, we want to know so we can fix it.
